Dr. Martha Osei-Yaw, Principal
Alexander D. Sullivan School

As a school administrator, with Jersey City Public Schools, I have had the pleasure of working with the parents and students in my community for well over 14 years.  I have also been blessed with the opportunity to teach as an adjunct professor at New Jersey City University which is my alma mater.  Both of these experiences have been extremely rewarding and have equally contributed to who I am today.

INTRODUCTION:

The majority of my career has been dedicated to urban education in a PreK-8 setting.  I began my career as a first grade bilingual teacher in Jersey City over 21 years ago and later moved on to become a Spanish teacher in one of the first middle schools within my district.  Teaching has always brought me great joy and has provided me with the ability to make a difference in the lives of my students.

My current position as the Principal of Alexander D. Sullivan School is both challenging and rewarding.  It affords me the opportunity to work closely with teachers, parents and students and make an impact on a greater scale within my community.  Every day a new adventure awaits and I am always ready to seize the day.
